The Confluence Between Soft Skills, CTE and Success
Presenter: Aimee Burley/ Dr. Karen DeSchryver
Location: Tundra C/D
Employers consistently rank social-emotional skills as of highest importance when hiring, and research indicates that students who have access to extensive CTE and SEL libraries rate higher on motivation, self-efficacy, self-awareness, resilience, and rate lower on stress. Yet many districts are unsure how to start gathering materials, and how to create learning paths to develop a student’s employability and emotional traits. This session will present CTE and SEL materials that can be incorporated into the classroom tomorrow and will transition to strategies for infusing SEL skills into the CTE Pathways.
